2016-17 Rochester NY USBC Masters Quailfying

Jon Keenan topped a field of 66 entrants in the Rochester NY USBC Masters Championship Tournament qualifier held at AMF Dewey Garden Lanes on Saturday, December 3. Keenan finished with a 6-game total of 1317 pins (219.5 average). The top 12 qualifiers return to action on Sunday morning at 10:00am. Defending champion John "Mr. 900" Martorella was second high with 1304. 2-time runner-up Bill Stoddard was third with 1295. Also in the running are former NYS Masters champion Mark Scuderi (4th with 1286), 2014 Rochester NY USBC Masters champion Dan Keenan (5th with 1283 and Jon's brother), Dom Tubolino (6th with 1227), 2016 700 Club champion and past runner-up Bill Hasiotis (7th with 1223), Jeff Wallace (8th with 1222), 3-time champion and 2016 Rochester Hall of Fame inductee Mike Rose Jr. (9th with 1221), and there was a three-way tie for 10th between Hall of Famer Pat Donaghue, Rob Gustke and Brian Stotts (all at 1212). Both Donaghue and Stotts are past runners-up in this event. The bowlers will compete in a 12-game match-play finals to be followed by the top 5 stepladder.
